Basic Wildlife Carers Courses
The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) runs a series
of Basic Wildlife Carers courses at its Bentley headquarters. Completion
of the course is one of the requirements to become a Registered Wildlife
Carer.
Even if you do not intend becoming a Registered Wildlife Carer, it is
worth attending one of these comprehensive courses. For more information

To become a Registered
Wildlife Carer, volunteer carers are required to:

of a registered carer or a wildlife rehabilitation centre until such
time as the carer or centre with which they are working can provide a written
recommendation confirming proficiency in wildlife care to DEC.
- Complete
DEC's Basic Wildlife
Carers course
- Be visited and assessed by one of DEC's wildlife officers
Registration conditions vary for country carers according to their
circumstances.
