What’s needed to become a Kanyana volunteer ?
- No particular skills needed as we offer on-the-job training
- A weekly commitment of at least four hours
- Is over 16 years old
- Has an up-to-date Tetanus injection
- Fill in volunteer application form and attend monthly intro evening
- Has a paid-up Kanyana membership
- Has completed a DEC Volunteer Registration form which is available from Kanyana

New-volunteer Introduction sessions
Introduction sessions for new volunteers are held monthly, at 6pm at Kanyana, on the 1st Wednesday of each month. As numbers are limited, bookings are essential.

No time to volunteer ?
You can still help by becoming an Associate Member; membership fees Kanyana’s lifeblood, helping to fund its extensive operations. As we receive no government funding for our lifesaving work, we depend on these annual fees to help with our funding.

Information For Overseas Volunteers
Kanyana welcomes overseas volunteers with teaching, animal-care or veterinary
skills. For the safety of our volunteers and our animals, overseas volunteers
are required to have a good understanding of English, both written and
verbal.
For the experience to be mutually beneficial, Kanyana requires a minimum commitment of one month, 5 days a week from overseas volunteers.
