New! Kanyana Education Resource Pack

We are pleased to be able to offer you the Kanyana 2005 Education Resource Pack designed to support the ‘live’ session that the Kanyana Education Team can be engaged to do with your class or group, and to enable you to engage in preparatory and follow-up work. It will also be useful for general class projects on conservation, endangered animals, Australian wildlife, etc.

The pack is in cd-rom format and is copyright to Kanyana but may be used, and photocopied, freely within your organisation. It is in full colour with many photographs, and includes the following:

  • The story of Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
  • Factsheets with exercises, at two levels of ability, about ten indigenous West Australian wild animals and birds
    – many of which you may see at the ‘live’ session.
  • Quizzes and word searches (with the answers!)
  • A useful booklist – both reference and fiction

The Factsheets are written at two levels – which one you use will depend upon your group’s age and ability: Level One is simpler and each Factsheet includes six questions and a drawing exercise which you can use to help the group remember and recall what they have learned.

Level Two contains more detail and requires higher cognitive reasoning and understanding. There is a question or statement on each Level Two Factsheet, designed to encourage and stimulate group discussion.
